Happy Hanukkah

There is starting to be Hanukkah movies, though two of them at least had the same actor in a leading role. It comes early this year, at the end of November, and comes up in some holiday display cases with menorahs involved as well as creches.

I again am listening to various display cases that reached the Supreme Court with a case involving a cross on a flag coming up later this term. Traditionally, I was supportive of a strong separation of religious symbols and the government. I relaxed a little bit, still concerned with giving governments discretion to take special care with religious symbols. And, making sure one religion at least does not dominate.

I covered these issues before and won't repeat myself. Symbols still matter.
