The time is upon us -- NL v. AL (home). I'm game ... it's fun to see teams that would probably never face each other in actual season games, except in this arrangement, especially given only a select few are likely to get to the World Series. Though player movement makes some of the match-ups a bit mundane (Roger Clemens facing Seattle in an AL park just isn't too remarkable, is it?) and certain head-to-head match-ups are rather lame (Marlins v. Devil Rays ... oooh ahhh!), it's a fun idea.
The highpoint, of course, is when the teams face their natural rivals (some don't really have one, but most do), such as Mets v. Yanks. It is this that causes a bit of a problem, since it results in an uneven schedule, such as the Mets playing the Yanks six times while the Braves play um some one less dangerous. I think it can be arranged so that the harm is fairly minimal, such as only one series per rival. Some purists might still be upset, but heck, if you want to be upset, focus your ire on the d.h., which might be the key sticking point in interleague match-ups anyway.
Oh, and word to the Mets ... win a game vs. you know who this time, ok?
