An interesting discussion of "Alexander Hamilton and the US Debt Problem" can be found here. [The board it is posted on often has some very good economic discussions, especially by frayster "run75441."] Fact-checking the Republican Convention is a pretty time consuming activity, but here and here covers some of the bases. And, Marci Hamilton has a good discussion about a bit of forced patriotism that was struck down by the courts.
I was planning to listen to a Yankee game this afternoon, but Tampa Bay failed to leave Florida in time to make it for their doubleheader today. They deny that they were told by MLB or the Yanks to leave early on Friday (their weekend series was washed out) or whenever to make sure that they make it. Thus, Tampa Bay does not think their first game should be forfeited. Oh, please. Anyway, many fans came early, expecting a doubleheader, and with the Mets idle (they are idle when they play these days, but that's another story), it was a bit of a waste for Labor Day, wasn't it?
