Grounded For Life started off fairly well with an interesting twist in Lily's love life. The show is meeting its mildy amusing, nice babe factor qualifications required for it to meet approval. Gilmore Girls, an oasis in a television wasteland, is starting off somewhat mediocre. Not bad, just a bit lame. A good episode needs to be forthcoming soon.
Its the fifth season, so we are approaching that danger zone that has reached all too many shows. The Lorelai/Luke relationship is pretty dull so far and the Rory/Dean re-match-up doesn't quite have much depth. For one thing, Rory should have had more negative reaction from the town given she is the other woman and all. Last night's episode, including an election, was pretty lackluster. Sookie did look quite like Elizabeth Edwards. Hopefully, EE's hubby will win as well.
As to sports, if Sunday Football can be considered part of the television line-up, it has been one part that has been going rather well. Curt Schilling's early exit (didn't quite shut-up 55 thousand people, did ya, Curt?) may not have been as lethal as it could have been, but the end result was a Yankee win. A late game collapse might be in the Yank's future, but the Red Sox's bullpen showed the possibility works both ways. Typical exciting game, or the start of a predictable "well, they always find a way to win," series?
Let's just say that those who thought the Red Sox will win in six might be a bit off. Mariano Rivera emotionally coming back from dealing with the tragic deaths of two family members and holding an 8-7 lead with a man on third doesn't quite seem the start of that, does it? Pedro may very well do good in Game Two, but 1-1 with a questionable Schilling is not quite the recipe of an upset.
