The NY Senate can be as much a mess (divided 32-30 with the balance held by boobs) as the federal model, even if they are not so unevenly apportioned. See, e.g., voting down
same sex marriage, after the assembly supported it by a large majority. We need a civil union bill like our neighbors in NJ. BTW, Senate Republicans = 100% anti-gay.
