NYC Bill to Give Vote To Non-Citizens
Don't know if this will pass, but I'm game. Lawful residents there for more than six months pay taxes, work, raise families in local schools etc. They are part of society and it is reasonable to give them the vote in local elections. And, naturalization can be a long drawn out process as this occurs. Citizenship still has privileges and respect those who disagree here. School elections and the like would be the strongest case.
