A re-run, but this old post of mine seems still valid for Hanukkah. Also, President Washington's letter to the Jews of Newport, meant in part to be a general expression of his constitutional views, is timely too. (The same applies to Jefferson's famous letter to the Baptists, which was not just some personal missive.) There is also this court case.
