Saw this listed as a late nite movie and it turned out to be a lesbian musician film with nice supporting work by Christine Lahti (wait, she was in a film 30 years ago already playing a mom?) and Mena Suvari (Sugar & Spice). The star, Lena Hall, did Broadway and has singing chops. A late ill-advised move by her was dubious but probably intentionally so on some level. Adrift (lost at sea) is pretty good too, especially the lead, but sort of got bored with it. ETA: The opening is basically a four minute or so music video. Apt.
