Confessions of a Shopaholic is a predictable fantasy with serious connotations (surely in this economy!) that relies on the charms of its star (Isla Fisher, looking like pink bubblegum at times) and supporting cast such as Krysten Ritter in the best friend role and the likes of Julie Hagerty (of
Airplaine!) in small roles. The guy is pretty bland. Overall, its stock plot and ending (having its cake and eating it too) remains, plus it's too broad at times. Doesn't quite work, but it's okay escapist fare. Still, we can expect more even there.
