Let’s hope come November, Congress finds its spine.Yes, "call me naïve," indeed. I too think applying AUMF 2001 to ISIL is dubious, even if it is not "anything goes." (As to the region, somewhat closer to mark.) But, since I don't think he is St. Obama, it is ultimately Congress' responsibility here. If House Republicans (who want to give the executive more power at times than he purports to have in this area) doesn't care, of course things don't look good. As to the speech, I'm with Rachel Maddow, and thinking ultimately, long term, bombing won't be the answer. Some ideas.
