The June compensation deadline passing, the Cubs signed Kimbrel (2.5 years/42M, so bargain!) and Keuchel went to the Braves for 13M (not too cheap for 1/2 year, given recent problems is why he had trouble finding a taker earlier). Fans on Twitter wanted the Mets to sign one or the other, but that simply was not likely. And, at that price tag (the Cubs' closer btw is hurt), not a great idea either. Famalia at 3/30M being dubious doesn't change this. Plus, now Vargas is thriving. Anyway, four more wins to beat June 2018's record!
