Religious Employees Harmed

The contraceptive mandate litigation continues. I care more about the religious employee myself, who truly has a substantial burden when denied coverage to a possible range of preventive services. Surely, some quite sincere religious claims can be made against many of them too. The interests of the employees are ten times more serious in my book.

Yes. Suppose 7th Day Adventists ran a hospital (as some do) and wished to deny employees access to blood transfusions through group health policies. How would that be received? Once the issue is posed outside the emotional (for some) area of birth control, the question answers itself.

Unfortunately, short term at least, the other argument is getting some receptive ears including around your parts. Either way, those who make this out to be -- the language is around -- some sort of tyranny are myopic in the extreme. The fact the average Catholic thinks the policy bollocks only worsens the situation.
