Trump's Joint Speech to Congress (not officially a State of the Union) was as expected full with lies and other DT standards. Some Democrats didn't show up, some left, and one was tossed. I would have preferred that they all either didn't show up or got up and left.
I am tired of the usual carping about just what was necessary. One person who I follow on Bluesky thought only being thrown out was meaningful. Thus, even the strong Trump critics, including those who have been very vocal, really didn't do anything. Come on.
I also think Senator Slotkin's response, don't focus on a repeatedly taken out of context Reagan reference, was very good. I provide some key excerpts here. I did so on a blog thread, and multiple people were like, "THIS is what was deemed so lame?" Yup.
There was also a Supreme Court moment, which will be addressed later in the SCOTUS wrap-up.
